Jane Trizinski

Obituary of Jane Trizinski

Please share a memory of Jane to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Jane was born on August 19th, 1949, in Bronx, NY, to the late John and Marie Gallagher. She grew up in Ridgefield Park, NJ, with her ten sisters, whom she loved: Ann, Fran (deceased), Liz, Mary Jane, Helen, Margaret, Terry (deceased), Patty, Kathy, and Eileen. Throughout the years they remained close and would have endless get-togethers and gift exchanges with one another.

In 1970, Jane married the late Joseph Trizinski, with whom she spent a wonderful 33 years with, before he passed. They moved into their forever home in 1973, which was located in Lincoln Park, NJ. While living there, they had two young boys, Craig and Brian. Winona Ave was filled with love and laughter throughout Jane's many years there. Her two sons kept the house lively, along with all the pool parties over the years. There were numerous wiffle ball, football, sledding paths, and soccer games that occurred in that very backyard, which carried into the grandchildren’s childhood, which Jane always oversaw. They enjoyed spending their summers down the shore with family, which included endless crabbing, fishing, and clamming days. This led to unforgettable stories for years to come that always brought laughter to the table on Christmas.

Jane is survived by Craig and his wife Mary Trizinski of Mount Sterling, Ohio and the late Brian and his wife Stephanie Trizinski of Towaco, NJ. Along with her five grandchildren: Cora, Maddison, Jillian, Joseph, Gavin and her great grandson Levi.  She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.

Jane was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and godmother who spent most days cleaning, cooking, caring for her pool, and making everyone laugh until their stomachs hurt. Jane was as strong as a bull, which someone once told us. She overcame many obstacles throughout her life and always came out on top. She was stubborn but passionate about every aspect of life and everyone's well-being.

Jane enjoyed making French toast, mini hotdogs, potato salad, egg salad, and her specialty mashed potatoes. On Saturdays, she spent the day with her sister Helen, going to ShopRite, making breakfast while playing word find games, and then later getting dinner together. Her grandchildren knew not to bother her or pay her a surprise visit on Saturdays because she was always busy :).

Since 1991 Jane devoted the remainder of her life towards her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. They would play endless games of spoons, old maid, go fish and uno together. While also cheering them on in every aspect throughout their lives. Jane was also the toughest referee when it came to the annual diving contest, in which she rarely gave out a 10/10. Later in her grandchildren’s life, they stopped calling her “grandma” and started calling her a new name, which stuck. She was known as “GAMA” and will forever be known as that. Jane enjoyed sitting in her kitchen chair while listening and talking to them about any little thing they could think of. She gave the best advice when needed and was always there to make them laugh when they needed it the most. Her favorite sayings were “It is what it is,” “I talk to my animals because they listen to me,” (the animals were ceramic) “My fridge is packed… we need to clean it out” (the fridge was never packed), and lastly, “You know I tell your father everything you guys  DON’T do.”

We will forever cherish the time spent and the memories made with Jane, also known as “Gama.” Gama always knew how to make a bad day better, and she will be missed, but her spirit will live on forever through all the memories and stories that will be shared in the future. There were many laughs and tears shed over the years, but the good memories always outweigh the bad. This is a hard goodbye, but we will know that you will be reunited with your parents, your love Joe, your baby Brian, and your two sisters Fran and Terry. We will love you forever and always, Mom and GAMMMMAAAA.
