To Grandma Vicky,
A woman who was tougher than the streets of Brooklyn and a charming personality that would illuminate the room with so much happiness and gentleness. She may have not been my biological grandma, but I always saw her as one through my eyes and will always and forever be grandma Vicky in my heart. Every Christmas or family gatherings I attended, she would be there with the biggest smile and followed by the most interesting stories as she would reminisce about her past. Her famous line whenever she saw me or my parents would be "Brooklyn’s in the house!", which in turn would have me giving her the latest inside scoop of what’s going on in the same borough in which I was also raised. She had blessed me with a loving Aunt who is like a second mother to me and a family that I will always be grateful for having. Thank you for all the gifts and loving memories you have given me as a child, a teenager, and as a young man. You will be missed and never forgotten by me and my parents.
From,
Matthew

What I find amazing when I think of grandma- she was born almost 100 years ago and 14 years before our hot rod came into existence . She was born during the roaring 20s, prohibition, jazz and a decade that witnessed unprecedented economic growth and prosperity within the United States. She survived the Great Depression which in my eyes made her stronger and helped her fight through all the rough times she may have come across in her life. In the 1940s she saw World War Two, the holocaust, atomic bombs and the Cold War. She witnessed inventions like the microwave, the crash test dummy and color tv . During her prime in the 50s she watched Elvis in his prime and was hopefully rocking and rolling in her spare time. She saw sex symbols like Marilyn Monroe and Rita Hayworth in their prime as well . In the 60s she saw the assassination of JFK , MLK and the civil rights movement.
I could go on forever but what I’m trying to say is she saw more historical events in the country and world’s history than I will ever see in my lifetime. Her experience through it all gave her the strength to fight every day.
She’s given me lots of memories from watching movies, going to the casinos, watching her cook and just being around her. I’ll never forget it. She will be missed very much by family and friends who knew her. Bye grandma ❤️

Tina and I are childhood friends. We grew up on the same block in Brooklyn. Vicki was like my adopted mom. All my early, wonderful memories include her. She was sweet, kind, generous, funny and always made me feel welcome. I truly loved her! When Tina and Tony got married and moved to Jersey, Vicki stayed in Brooklyn for a while longer. Whenever I passed the house or rang the bell, we would always “catch up”. She loved her kids and her grandchildren and was so proud of them. I’d like to think she loved me too!! I am so thankful we got to see her at Gina and Christine’s weddings. Vicki your absence will leave such a big void, but I can’t help thinking how lucky Heaven is to have you now! May you rest in the sweetest peace.
We love you always,
Laura, Michael and Family
John, Tina, MaryAnne, Tony and Families, please accept our deepest condolences.

Tina, I am so blessed that through our friendship I got to know your mom.
Miss Vicky was a special woman, kind and caring. She had a spark and enthusiasm, telling it like it was.
I loved going to Yankee games on the senior bus with her, and enjoyed sharing laughs and an occasional cocktail!
She was the spunkiest 99 year I knew!
Vicky, you will be missed, and be blessed in Heaven. Rest in peace.

Aunt Vicki, I am so thankful for you always being there for John Vartan and I and always randomly popping up to bring emense boatloads of laughs and joy to our hearts, . Especially in 2014 , after John Vartan's dad, Ohannes aka Poppa John, passed away. Winter of 2014, was probably a real wintery one in our hearts and minds. Things were just gloomy and gray and our family was hurting.I was on break from Grad school at the time while you were visiting and I was lucky to spend days and hours talking to you, which brought so much light and joy to my heart. And all the visits since then, short and long. Your truthful heartiness, uplifting words, zest for life and resilient nature will always live on in my mind and heart forever. Thank you for everything and every knudge, prod, and kindling flame. Love always and forever, Margaret Anne

Whenever a person leaves this life, especially someone who has lived as long as my Great Aunt Vicky, they take a little piece of history with them. Aunt Vicky was a link to the historical eras she lived through, everything from the Great Depression and World War II to the old-school Brooklyn, which itself is becoming more of a memory each year. She was also a great presence in any room and circumstance. As a kid, teenager, and young adult, I remember many an occasion where Aunt Vicky, her sister Catherine (my grandmother), and her grandniece Angela (my mother) all sat around in a lively room, with other members of our extended family, and the chemistry and banter amongst them was second to none. After quite a bit of time having passed where we hadn't seen each other, I am deeply grateful that I had the chance to see her one last time shortly before she passed. Now, she, her sister, and grandniece have been reunited, and in time, God-willing, so will all of us. May her memory live eternal and may she rest in peace.

‘I knew her when’ so many say,
But let me share some yesterday….
She was such a good person and was so funny,
But life had some vinegar mixed with the honey.
Vicki’s mom passed when she was so very young,
When learning about life has just begun,
But even with no role model in her life,
She grew to be a wonderful mother and perfect wife.
She cared for her children the best she could,
Growing up in the neighborhood.
She took care of her father till age had its way,
And would commute back and forth to work every day.
She would take the bus to visit her sister,
Who is already in heaven and surely does miss her.
Vicki wasn’t work famous or won any big bucks,
And sometime succeeded based solely on luck.
But now a new star will shine much brighter at night,
Because it will be filled with the love of Vicki’s life. ♥️
I will miss you with all my heart Aunt Vicki. You made the world a better place. I am glad you and your sister and parents are all together now.

I have known Vickie for about forty years. She became an immediate “adopted family member” when Tina married my cousin, Tony. Vickie came to all the parties and family functions and was everyone’s favorite! Her charm, her expressions , her complete honesty and most of all, her positive attitude captured everybody’s heart.
I loved Vickie and will miss her. I feel so lucky to have known her.
Thumbs up Vickie! You are at peace now.
