Obituary of Anna Pucciarelli

Please share a memory of Anna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Mrs. Anna Marie Pucciarelli, was born on February 10th 1937 in New York City. Selfless, caring, loving and self sacrificing, Anna would have been 87 on Saturday the 10th February.

Anna was very proud to become a registered nurse at the age of 42. She worked at twelve different nursing positions over the years. She was the head nurse at Morris County Jail, worked at St Michael's Hospital, and the hospice of New Jersey. Her final position, where she worked until she was 83, at Broadway House at Newark New Jersey where she helped care for AIDS patients and guide them towards independent living in the community. Anna was given the Rebuilding Lives award for her work at Broadway House.

Anna was married to Paul Pucciarelli in 1959. They remained happily married until Paul sadly passed away in 2000. Anna and Paul were blessed with two loving sons, David and Paul Jr. She loved and cared for her family immensely, including her wonderful parents, Rose and Trifone Laricchia, her brothers, Gene and Sam, and her daughter-in-laws Patricia and Adrian. She also had beautiful, loving and caring relationships with her mother and father in law, Anne and Charles Pucciarelli, and her brother-in-law, Charles Jr. Anna also was blessed with a granddaughter. She had two nephews and six nieces whom she lovingly adored and was also beautifully close to all her cousins and extended family and friends.

It was most important to Anna that her family remained extremely loving and close to each other. Anna loved playing the piano, she had a talent for creating arts and crafts, and enjoyed her wonderful trips to Italy and Spain. Anna ran a very welcoming and loving household, and welcomed all the neighborhood kids into her home to play in her backyard. Many happy hours of sports and recreation were spent in Anna's house and backyard, where she helped create beautiful memories for everyone that was lucky enough to know her.
