Frank Diertl, 85, of Towaco, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday, October 29, 2021. He was a physically and emotionally strong man with a big heart. Frank was born in Landl, Austria and immigrated to the United States to pursue the American Dream in 1956 where he initially settled in Lodi, NJ and has lived in Towaco since 1967. Frank was a skilled craftsman who specialized in designing, building and installing custom kitchen cabinets and owned shops in Little Ferry and Teaneck, NJ. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish with family and friends. Frank also loved dancing with his wife and enjoyed watching ski racing on TV. In his retirement he kept himself busy with home projects and repairs or helping friends and family with same. Frank could build or fix anything! Despite battling Parkinson’s disease for nearly 20 years, he never let it slow his drive to challenge himself, daily. He was a skilled guitar player in his younger days and true to challenging himself, started to teach himself to play the accordion at age 79. Beloved husband of Ingrid Diertl (nee Breitfuss). Devoted father of Frank, Sonja and Robert. Dear brother of Fritz, Gisela, Trudy, Maria, Berta and Erika. Loving Opa of Bruce, Paige, Shawn, Rob, Beau, Chris, Braden, Shana and Kyle. Visiting on Sunday, Nov 7th from 3-7 PM at Keri Memorial Funeral Home, 125 Main Street, Lincoln Park, NJ. Funeral procession will begin at Keri Memorial Funeral Home on Monday at 9:30 AM.
